About Royal Arch Masonry

Triple tau

The Completion of the Master Mason Degree

Royal Arch Masonry is an important and distinctive part of the York Rite of Freemasonry.

It marks the completion of the Master Mason’s journey and the high point of the original Degrees of the Blue Lodge as they were practiced in the Antients Lodges of England before 1820. The Degree reveals the deeper meaning behind what was lost in the Master Mason Degree and how that knowledge is rediscovered and preserved in the Royal Arch. Historically, the two may even have been conferred as a single, unified ceremony.
